To awaken the soul (rūh) through the path of divine remembrance, meditation, and selfless service. Dera Jagmalwali aims to guide guide seekers toward inner purity, peace, and spiritual realization by connecting them with the eternal truth beyond the physical world. Rooted in the tradition of ruhāniyat, our mission is to help individuals rise above ego, attachments, and worldly distractions through love, humility, and devotion to the Divine.
Dera Jagmalwali, established in 1966 by Param Sant Gurbakhsh Singh Ji (Manager Sahib Ji), is founded on the timeless wisdom of the saints. Firmly rooted in the tradition of Sant Mat, the Dera guides sincere seekers on the inner spiritual journey, offering teachings and practices that cultivate inner awareness, self-realization, and lasting peace.
The spiritual path followed at the Dera centers around the direct experience of the divine presence within through Simran (meditation on the inner Name), Satsang (spiritual discourses), and Seva (selfless service). These practices help individuals turn inward—away from external distractions—cultivating discipline, devotion and love for the Divine.
Before embarking on these essential practices, seekers are honored with Naam Daan—initiation by the living Master. This sacred blessing aligns the soul with the inner Shabd (sound current) and transmits the meditation technique for inward travel. Naam Daan marks more than a beginning—it represents a heartfelt vow to uphold truth and purity and to journey under the loving guidance of the Master toward divine realization
Simran is the inner repetition of the divine Name, practiced in silence and stillness. It calms the mind, draws attention inward, and opens the way to higher awareness and communion with the Divine.
Satsang, or spiritual discourse, refers to gatherings led by the Master where the teachings of the saints are shared and contemplated. These gatherings strengthen understanding, inspire discipline, and help seekers stay connected to the spiritual truth.
Seva, or selfless service, is the offering of help without attachment to outcome or recognition. Whether supporting the Dera or the broader community, Seva is performed with humility and love. It diminishes self-centeredness and cultivates an open heart, preparing the soul to receive spiritual grace
To support these practices, disciples are expected to uphold a disciplined way of life rooted in moral clarity and inner purity. This includes maintaining a pure vegetarian diet, refraining from alcohol and intoxicants, and living with sincerity, humility, and compassion. These ethical commitments are essential for deepening meditation and sustaining the inner journey.
Under the continued guidance of the present Master, Maharaj Birender Singh Ji, Dera Jagmalwali remains dedicated to a life of simplicity, devotion, and spiritual focus. Maharaj Ji provides initiation (Naam Daan) and ongoing spiritual guidance, ensuring seekers receive the support and clarity needed to progress in their spiritual journey.
Welcoming sincere seekers from all backgrounds, Dera Jagmalwali teaches a spiritual path that transcends outer labels and encourages genuine inner transformation. To learn more about the Masters who have lovingly guided this path, visit the Our Masters
Dera Jagmalwali was established in 1966 by Param Sant Gurbakhsh Singh Ji, (Manager Sahib Ji) as a place of spiritual learning and inner discipline, rooted in the practices of Simran (meditation), Satsang (spiritual discourses), and Seva (selfless service).
After his passing in 1998, the mantle of spiritual leadership was passed to Param Sant Bahadur Chand Ji, affectionately called Vakil Sahib Ji. He started visiting Shah Mastana Ji and began practicing Simran under his guidance. In February 1949, Pujya Shah Mastana Ji blessed him with spirituality and bestowed upon him the spiritual title of “Manager.” Following this, he left his job to dedicate himself to serving Pujya Shah Mastana Ji. On April 18, 1960, Shah Mastana Ji merged into the form of Shabd and, before becoming Jyotish-Jyotish, entrusted the management of the Dera to him. At that time, he was 45 years old. After the departure of Pujya Shah Mastana Ji from the Dera, circumstances began to change, leading him to leave the Dera himself. For approximately six years, he continued performing Seva and Simran while residing in various Deras. On February 18, 1966, he laid the foundation for Dera Jagmalwali, which has since become a world-renowned spiritual center. He merged into the form of Shabd on July 30, 1998. Staying in the Dera itself, he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree and later earned a Bachelor of Laws degree from Chaudhary Devi Lal University. He used to sing Bhajans (Shabad) in the presence of Param Pujya Manager Sahib Ji and Param Pujya Vakil Sahib Ji. After Pujya Param Sant “Manager Sahib” Ji accepted the light of light, Pujya Param Sant “Vakil Sahib” Ji assumed the Guru Gaddi, he started serving him as his personal guide and worked under his orders for 26 years continuously. He was appointed as the trustee of the Dera Trust in the year 2002, and the administrative responsibilities of the Dera were also entrusted to him. Whenever Param Pujya “Vakil Sahib” Ji used to go for a meeting in the country or abroad, he took you along to manage all arrangements. On 01 August 2024, Pujya Param Sant Vakil Sahib Ji passed away in the word form. Jyotish Jot had appointed you as his spiritual successor about one and a half years ago in 2023.
